Job Description

Interstate Companies Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Branch Manager to lead our Altoona branch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel technology, operations management, and team leadership.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales growth, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing the branch's financial performance. This role requires a dynamic leader who can improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.

The successful candidate will have experience with profit and loss statements, budgeting, and basic inventory control. They will also have a proven background in service, sales, or business ownership, and a clear understanding of profitability, customer service, sales, and marketing.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all service and sales operations are carried out in an appropriate and cost-effective manner.
  • Improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Purchasing materials, planning inventory, and overseeing warehouse efficiency.
  • Helping the organization's processes remain legally compliant.
  • Formulating strategic and operational objectives.
  • Examining financial data and using them to improve profitability.
  • Managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Performing quality controls and monitoring production KPIs.
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
  • Finding ways to increase the quality of customer service.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • A self-starter who can observe the strengths present in a location and utilize those strengths to develop a positive business plan.
  • Experience with profit and loss statements, budgeting, and basic inventory control.
  • A proven background in service, sales, or business ownership.
  • A clear understanding of profitability, customer service, sales, and marketing.

Requirements include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with the Service Team and Sales Team.
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Experience as a manager at this level with the ability to manage employees and processes.
  • Extensive sales experience in Power Generation preferred but not required.
  • Strong operations background.
