Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Aide to support our Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) programs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teachers and staff to provide individualized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and social support to DHH students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and small group instruction.
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment of student progress.
- Develop and implement strategies to support students with hearing impairments, including communication plans and accommodations.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for DHH students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and research-based strategies for supporting DHH students.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position working in a school setting. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
