We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Auditor to join our team at the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue. As a Revenue Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our tax system and ensuring that taxpayers comply with tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Examine tax returns and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Correspond with taxpayers to resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Prepare audit work papers and reports to document findings and recommendations
- Conduct audits of individuals and businesses to verify accuracy and compliance
- Develop and implement audit plans to ensure effective and efficient use of resources
- Completed or in the process of completing a bachelor's degree or advanced degree in accounting or taxation from an accredited institution
- Professional experience in auditing records and/or procedures to verify accuracy/conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS)
