Advanced Facilities Maintenance Specialist

In this role, you will perform advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance tasks within a designated skilled trade.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting renovations, inspections, and repairs on buildings and utility systems.
- Managing paperwork related to work orders and material requisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular attendance is essential, and you may be required to work specific or rotating shifts, including extended hours or overtime as needed.
You may also participate in an on-call rotation to meet the operational needs of the facility.
Your duties will encompass:
- Performing inspections and maintenance in compliance with established codes and standards across various trades, including plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, and electrical work.
- Utilizing hand tools and equipment effectively during repairs and inspections.
- Evaluating tasks to determine the most efficient maintenance and repair methods.
- Executing renovations to modernize facilities or adapt them for new purposes.
- Overseeing construction and maintenance projects, including scheduling and staff assignment.
- Ensuring the safety and functionality of campus operations and systems.

- Use hand and power tools, and conduct safety equipment tests as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders and project materials.
- Operate machinery when required and demonstrate proper usage to others.
- Participate in disaster response and recovery efforts as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
You should possess:
- Comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance and operations.
- Familiarity with various trades, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Understanding of safety regulations and industrial safety practices.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and conducting preventative maintenance.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong organizational skills for maintenance programs.
- Leadership skills to supervise others effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
