Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mathematics Educator to join our Upper School Faculty. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching higher-level mathematics, including as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This is a full-time position that will involve teaching five sections, or four sections and a lab, as well as leading an advisory class.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement inquiry-based instructional activities that promote active learning and engagement.
  • Prepare and deliver course materials, including syllabi, unit plans, homework assignments, and assessments, to ensure completion of the curriculum.
  • Provide ongoing and effective feedback to students, using group and peer critique, guided self-evaluation, and criterion-based rubrics.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment and contribute to the development of curricula, course content, and teaching methods.
  • Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping procedures using educational technology.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, both orally and in writing.
  • Stay current with technology advances and incorporate technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience teaching higher-level mathematics, preferably in an IB context.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and parents.
  • Understanding of technology to facilitate teaching, grading, and communication.
  • Collegiality and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and community members of diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to a growth mindset and continuous professional development.
