Job Summary

FACETS is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Development and Communications Associate to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Development department in implementing FACETS' Development plan, coordinating major events, and managing administrative aspects of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resource Development Administration:
    • Provide staff support to the Development department, Development Committee, Special Event Committees, and volunteers.
    • Manage Raiser's Edge donor database, including ongoing updates to donor and prospect constituent records, entering financial gift information, and pulling contact and donor reports.
    • Work with the Accountant to perform ongoing and accurate reconciliation of financial donations.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Development and Manager of Development to implement timely and diverse written donor acknowledgement.
    • Assist the Manager of Development in drafting fundraising, special event, and gift-in-kind drive collateral materials.
    • Work with the Director of Development to coordinate all workplace giving campaigns, including United Way, Combined Federal Campaign, and the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.
  • Gifts-in-Kind / Emergency Supply Pantry:
    • Coordinate all in-kind donations, including responding to donation inquiries, acceptance, and distribution of items to program staff, and monitoring of FACETS' Emergency Supply Pantry.
    • Regularly communicate with FACETS program staff on special gift-in-kind needs.
    • Conduct outreach for ongoing and special gift-in-kind needs.
    • Work with the Director of Development and program staff to conduct seasonal supply drives, including the Back to School, Thanksgiving, and December Holiday Drives.
    • Oversee entry of gift-in-kind donations into Raiser's Edge and gift-in-kind donor acknowledgement.
  • Special Events:
    • Work with the Director of Development to coordinate special event logistics, including communicating with special event committees, working with vendors, fundraising to support the event, tracking event registrations, and day-of event management.
    • Assist in development and maintenance of special events timelines and production schedules.
    • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to design volunteer opportunities in support of special events and drives.
    • Manage post-event close-out process and oversee all event sponsor, participant, and donor acknowledgement.
  • Other:
    • Complete 40 hours of professional development per fiscal year.
    • Participate in community presentations and outreach opportunities.
    • Support agency-wide activities and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with databases; Raiser's Edge preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred minimum two years' experience in event planning and logistics; nonprofit development experience preferred but not required.
