The Education Trust (Ed Trust) is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to enhance their Finance Division. The selected individual will be integral to a committed team focused on addressing opportunity disparities impacting students from various backgrounds. This role is vital in managing the organization's financial activities, compliance initiatives, and resource stewardship, ensuring the fiscal integrity of Ed Trust in line with its mission to promote equity in education.

Located in Washington, DC, with options for remote work, the Senior Manager of Accounting will report directly to the CFO and oversee a small team while engaging with stakeholders throughout the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Manager of Accounting will:

  • Define vision and objectives for the Accounting team
  • Guide and nurture a diverse workforce
  • Supervise daily financial operations and resource distribution
  • Implement internal controls and procedural guidelines
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements
  • Oversee audit functions and ensure compliance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must possess:
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred)
  • Over 7 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Familiarity with accounting software and nonprofit entities
  • Understanding of accounting standards applicable to nonprofits
  • Expertise in grant funding processes
COMPENSATION PACKAGE

The salary for this role ranges from $89,920 to $112,400, commensurate with skills and experience. Ed Trust provides a competitive benefits package that prioritizes employee well-being.
