About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer II to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and improving processes for harness and sensor fabrication in support of all Blue Origin products and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality products and efficient production
  • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight
  • Identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules
  • Create, interpret, and modify work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning
  • Work hands-on with engineers and technicians in the manufacturing area to build our launch vehicles and spacecraft
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, ABET accredited
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering, design engineering, or related process engineering experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100
  • Ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace wiring harness fabrication experience, including transition to semi or full automation
  • Advanced degree, certification, and/or training in a directly related field
  • Familiarity with IPC-620
  • Aerospace/launch vehicle experience
  • Six Sigma execution experience
