Manufacturing Process Engineer II

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and improving processes for harness and sensor fabrication in support of all Blue Origin products and programs.
This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. You will work closely with our team of experts to design and implement processes that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for harness and sensor fabrication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement processes that meet quality and safety standards
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to build launch vehicles and spacecraft
- Identify and develop methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules
- Create and interpret work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, ABET accredited
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, design engineering, or related process engineering
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including working knowledge of GD&T
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100
- Ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace wiring harness fabrication experience, including transition to semi or full automation
- Advanced degree, certification, and/or training in a directly related field
- Familiarity with IPC-620
- Aerospace/Launch vehicle experience
- Six Sigma execution experience
- Continuous improvement, payback analysis, business case development, and earned value project management
