In-House Technology Counsel
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled In-House Technology Counsel to join our Corporate Counseling & Transactions Unit (CC&T) at State Farm. The successful candidate will advise on a variety of technology matters, including transactions for technology services, vendor contracts, and technology agreements.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise on legal issues related to transactions for technology services, including counseling our Enterprise Technology Department and other business areas.
- Draft and negotiate technology agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, technology consulting, staff augmentation, and outsourcing agreements.
- Assist in contract negotiation and serve as a counseling role, advising business areas on allocating business and legal risks associated with vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with the Law Department to ensure compliance with State Farm's policies and procedures.
- J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
- Active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar.
- Must be able to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL.
- Attorney with 3-6 years of transactional experience, preferably with experience or acumen in the technology area.
- Commitment to providing quality legal advice, learning agility, and a history of enthusiastic participation in a team environment.

Work Arrangement:This is a hybrid role, requiring hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend the majority of time in the office.
