About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer III to join our team at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment for our radio telescopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering analysis and design of mechanical systems and equipment for radio telescopes
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in mechanical engineering
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a research or development environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and hands-on experience with industrial equipment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
