Job Summary

The Field Service Technician is a critical role at Wilks Brothers, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy industrial equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and traveling to customer job sites for the repair and maintenance of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical problems with our heavy equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, including testing and diagnostics.
  • Monitor and evaluate processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Assist other technicians with performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of oil field and engine equipment.
  • Perform tasks efficiently and effectively, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend training classes as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience with similar industrial equipment strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years prior field service experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of performing complex repairs correctly and safely in a shop environment and in the field.
  • Must own a basic set of hand tools.
  • Must have a valid driver license or commercial driver license.
  • Able to travel overnight between facilities as necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in the English language.

Working Conditions

  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to move and lift to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
