Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Toms River plays a crucial role in facilitating customer interactions, managing meter readings, processing payments, and executing various administrative functions. This position demands strong communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support:
- Deliver primary customer service and reception duties.
- Data Management:
- Upload and process meter readings, manage collections, and oversee customer accounts.
- Administrative Functions:
- Conduct basic accounting tasks, maintain records, and process work orders.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and sustain customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues effectively.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction:
- Adhere to the customer service call flow process.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
- Establish new accounts.
- Manage account start/stop requests.
- Data Management:
- Input and process meter readings in the billing system.
- Handle payment processing.
- Update shut-off lists and manage service interruptions due to nonpayment.
- Maintain records for seasonal and frozen meters.
- Process meter readings and manage exceptions.
- Work Order Processing:
- Execute daily work orders and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Generate and monitor service orders through billing and asset management systems.
- Schedule appointments and dispatch work orders as necessary.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with the New Jersey office and other departments.
- Maintain records and communicate account-related issues.
- Assist field staff with customer concerns, service locations, and measurements.
- Partner with management on special projects, particularly those focused on revenue generation.
- Administrative Duties:
- Oversee mail distribution, including FedEx shipments.
- Support the training of new employees and manage meter adjustments.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- General understanding of accounting and billing practices.
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, Google Workspace).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
