Job Summary:

The Home Visitor position at Puget Sound Educational Service District is a critical role in providing quality, comprehensive, home-based child/family support services for pregnant women and infants/toddlers and their families. This position requires a strong understanding of child development and the ability to work effectively with families to support their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide home visits to pregnant women and families with children age birth-5 to assess their needs and develop individualized plans to support their goals.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including Maternity Support, Early Intervention providers, and Child Protective Services, to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Recruit and train parent volunteers to strengthen community engagement and support families in accessing Early Head Start programming.
  • Conduct health and developmental screenings and complete ongoing assessments to identify needs and develop individual learning plans.
  • Develop and implement socialization groups, parent engagement, and other program activities to support individual school readiness goals and parenting skills.

Requirements:

  • Home Visitor Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field with coursework equivalent to the Home Visitor CDA.
  • Experience working with children age birth-5 and their families, particularly in Head Start/Early Head Start/ECEAP or other comprehensive child development/family support programs serving low-income families.
  • Experience working with pregnant and/or postpartum women, refugee families, immigrant families, and/or families with limited English speaking abilities.
  • Community outreach experience and bilingual ability, with Spanish preferred.
