Social Media Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Social Media Coordinator to join our team at SAG-AFTRA. As a key member of our Communications & Marketing department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to engage our audience and promote our brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute social media content calendars across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist to create and publish daily content, including copy, images, and videos.
  • Produce creative graphics, GIFs, and video/audio assets to enhance our social media presence.
  • Track social analytics and competitive listening to inform our social media strategy.
  • Monitor and moderate social media conversations, responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with events and union activities by attending and producing live social media content.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and advance campaigns, identify key players, and maintain approvals.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in social media marketing, editorial, or social department of an ecommerce, entertainment industry, digital media, or agency environment.
  • Experience with multiple social media platforms and their available tools, including Facebook Business Manager and Ads Manager.
  • Knowledge of social media best practices and ability to produce creative, impactful content in brand voice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
