Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly qualified and motivated Wealth Planning Associate Attorney with a focus on international matters. This role presents a unique chance to engage with high-net-worth clients on intricate international wealth planning issues.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of U.S. estate and gift tax regulations, grantor trust provisions, transfer tax guidelines, and the intricacies of wills and trusts.

This position requires strategic thinking, adept problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive legal counsel to high-net-worth clients regarding international wealth planning.
  • Draft and evaluate legal documents, including wills, trusts, estate plans, and related instruments.
  • Remain informed about recent developments in U.S. estate and gift tax regulations, grantor trust provisions, and transfer tax guidelines.
  • Formulate and execute strategies aimed at minimizing tax burdens and enhancing wealth preservation for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to offer integrated wealth management solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory standards in the implementation of wealth planning strategies.
  • Assist in dispute resolution and litigation concerning estate and trust issues.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with exemplary academic credentials is preferred.
  • An advanced law degree (LLM) in Taxation is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in international wealth planning, particularly with high-net-worth clientele.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. estate and gift tax regulations, grantor trust provisions, and transfer tax guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including wills, trusts, and estate plans.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Active membership in good standing with the New York state bar.
