Position Overview:
We are currently in search of a highly skilled and motivated International Wealth Planning Associate Attorney. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with high-net-worth clients on intricate international wealth planning issues.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of U.S. estate and gift tax regulations, grantor trust provisions, transfer tax laws, and estate planning instruments.
This position requires strategic thinking, adept problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver thorough legal counsel to affluent clients regarding international wealth management.
- Draft and evaluate legal documents such as wills, trusts, estate plans, and related materials.
- Remain informed about the latest developments in U.S. estate and gift tax regulations, grantor trust provisions, and transfer tax laws.
- Formulate and execute strategies aimed at minimizing tax burdens and enhancing wealth preservation for clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external professionals to provide comprehensive wealth management solutions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory standards in the implementation of wealth planning strategies.
- Assist in dispute resolution and litigation concerning estate and trust issues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials is preferred.
- An advanced law degree (LLM) in Taxation is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in international wealth planning, focusing on high-net-worth clientele.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. estate and gift tax regulations, grantor trust provisions, and transfer tax laws.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including wills, trusts, and estate plans.
- Exceptional research, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Membership in good standing with the New York state bar.
