Welding Engineer

Astec Industries is seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our team.
About the RoleThis position requires a deep understanding of welding codes, specifications, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience with GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, hard automation, and robotics. Additionally, they will be able to write specifications and welding procedures, and have a strong understanding of equipment financial justification.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safe work practices
- Design and develop WPS's and PQR's
- Conduct process reviews and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to evaluate processes and personnel
- Evaluate emerging technologies and their applications
- Prepare reports and present findings to company leadership
- Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in welding engineering or a related field
- Strong understanding of welding codes (AWS and ASME)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
