Position Summary:


The Finance Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations for various entities, ensuring meticulous management of financial records and associated controls. This includes the accurate recording of journal entries, conducting account analyses, and performing reconciliations to guarantee compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Additionally, this role will assist in the preparation of financial statements that adhere to GAAP and regulatory requirements as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:
Enhance and streamline the financial closing process.

Supervise the financial closing activities to ensure that results are comprehensive, precise, timely, and compliant with U.S. GAAP, statutory requirements, and IFRS accounting standards (IFRS applies to one specific insurance branch only).

Oversee the creation of quarterly and annual financial statements along with the necessary disclosures.


Evaluate critical data and performance indicators to formulate strategic action plans that align with the organization's mission and objectives.


Lead or actively participate in cross-departmental teams for various corporate initiatives, including the implementation of financial systems, process enhancement projects, and the integration and reporting of merger and acquisition finances.

Assess existing processes, systems, and resources for potential efficiencies in line with ongoing integration and automation efforts.

Drive continuous improvement by reviewing daily financial operations and data sources for possible enhancements.


Manage special projects such as establishing automated connections between front-end systems and subledgers, which may require innovative thinking, as well as expertise in title insurance accounting, data management, IT systems, and forensic accounting tasks.

Provide mentorship and support to the finance team.

Establish and evaluate key strategic and operational priorities, developing them into a detailed action plan.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Maintain effective and collaborative communication with front office teams and the financial planning and analysis department.

Deliver management with ad hoc analyses or reports.

Foster and maintain relationships with both internal and external auditors.

Qualifications:

Essential:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred

5+ years of relevant experience

Strong understanding and application of U.S. GAAP and internal controls

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Software (Oracle) and Hyperion (HFM) or FCCS is advantageous

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines

Capacity to work independently, identify issues, and propose effective solutions


Must demonstrate flexibility and possess the skills to work effectively in a collaborative environment, including ongoing interactions with other departments as the finance representative.

Strong initiative, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills, along with a focus on continuous improvement, are essential.

Technical accounting expertise to report on U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.

Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Desirable:
Experience in Statutory Accounting

Knowledge of warranty insurance and/or strong technical insurance accounting experience with a solid understanding of insurance operations.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. This range is applicable for roles performed in a specified location.


Base compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, geographic location, and other relevant metrics.
