As a Psychologist at Racing for Recovery, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychological problems and behavioral dysfunctions.
  • Performing psychological assessments, testing, and evaluations to help diagnose conditions or learn more about how people think, feel, and behave.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
  • Helping clients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
  • Monitoring client progress through regular meetings or sessions.
  • Collaborating with counselors, therapists, case managers, and other professionals to provide the best care possible.
  • Completing all necessary clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Providing referrals when necessary for additional care, evaluation, or treatment.

Requirements

  • PhD with proven experience
  • CARF accreditation experience preferred
  • Therapy/Therapeutic Services, Risk Assessment, Testing Procedures, Interviewing, Forensics
  • Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to helping individuals on their path to recovery
  • Knowledge, understanding, and implementation of ASAM level of care, substance abuse treatment, and counseling techniques
  • Strong knowledge of medical documentation and recordkeeping practices
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality, and exercising good judgment
