Job Summary
NYC Health + Hospitals seeks a skilled Psiychologist to provide clinical services to adults in the Substance Use and Recovery Clinic. The ideal candidate will have a valid license to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED and at least two years of post-licensure experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform intake evaluations and initial assessments for adults referred to the Substance Use and Recovery Clinic.
- Serve as Primary Therapist for adults in the clinic, completing intake forms, psychological databases, initial treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other necessary paperwork.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams, attending staff and team meetings, and assist with referral activities for individuals not accepted into the program.
- Perform mental status examinations and serve as a consultant to the multidisciplinary team regarding psychological, neuropsychological, and psycho-educational evaluations.
- Engage in collateral work, courts, and other social agencies, as well as supervise junior psychologists and participate in quality improvement projects.
Requirements
- Valid license to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED.
- At least two years of post-licensure experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
- Completion of NYC Health + Hospitals Supervisory training within three months of appointment.
