Medical Assistant II-Multispecialty-Scarsdale, NY-Full Time-Day-Offsite

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our Multispecialty team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and surgeons.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical office support to physicians and surgeons, including patient care and administrative duties.
- Assist with various procedures, take vital signs, and relay instructions to patients and families.
- Perform clerical responsibilities, including sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, and completing forms and requisitions.
- Enter orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system and prepare prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.
- Inventory, order, and restock medical supplies as needed.
- Set up examination rooms and instruments in accordance with proper sterilization techniques.
- Maintain logging systems for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, and sterilization processes.
- Check expiration dates on medications and medical supplies and dispose of them appropriately.
- Assist in the maintenance of medical charts, including filing, op reports, test results, and home care forms.
- May schedule surgeries/procedures, prepare charts, pre-admissions, and consent forms as necessary.
- May perform phlebotomy duties and appointment scheduling and registration for patients.
- May verify and update insurance information and perform pre-certification for procedures as needed.
- Mentor less experienced Medical Assistant staff and perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an approved school or equivalent training and experience.
