Scarsdale Public Schools is in search of an enthusiastic and collaborative professional who possesses a passion for education and a sincere commitment to the social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being of student-athletes. REPORTS TO:
The athletic director.

JOB GOAL:
To manage and oversee all aspects of the Intramural Sports program, which encompasses the planning, promotion, organization, and evaluation of scheduled activities.
Acting as a liaison between Intramurals activities and participants, the supervisor aims to foster an environment of enjoyment, physical fitness, and teamwork.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all athletic policies sanctioned by the Scarsdale Public Schools' Board of Education and ensures their implementation by the entire sports program staff. Familiar with existing systems, state, and league regulations; applies them consistently and interprets them for staff. Understands the proper administrative hierarchy and directs all requests or grievances through appropriate channels. Aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that necessitate attendance.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

Responsible for securing agreements with external facilities and instructors. Develops schedules for teams. Coordinates transportation and chaperones as necessary. Assists in the preparation for scheduled sports events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times. Aids in gathering documentation to meet state, section, and school requirements regarding physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility. Ensures proper safeguards for the maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites. Follows established procedures and policies concerning injuries, medical attention, and emergencies. Participates in the budgeting process with the athletic director by identifying requirements for the upcoming season. Recommends equipment specifications regarding type, style, color, or technical specifications. Responsible for operating within budgetary constraints. Arranges for the issuance and storage of equipment and submits annual inventory and current records concerning the same. Acts as a liaison between parents, coaches, and players. Promotes activities within the school by recruiting athletes who are not engaged in other sports programs and advocates for the sport outside the school through media, community programs, or other feasible means.
