We are seeking a Senior Underwriter, Casualty Reverse Flow, to join our team. This role will be responsible for Casualty Underwriting assigned commercial book of business, utilizing underwriting tools and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rate, quote, and issue local Liability US policies for Foreign based companies, independently evaluating exposure and calculating premium.
  • Provide effective and efficient account review and guidance to home office/producing offices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers, clients, home office, and producing offices, collecting data and risk information, and processing new and renewal business.
  • Review applications and financial requirements for risks requiring complex underwriting skills, determining acceptability of risk in accordance with company guidelines and standards, and determining appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis in line with compliance requirements.
  • Prepare quotes and answer questions from agents, policyholders, home office/producing office, or other external contacts, escalating issues to management along with proposed solutions as necessary.
  • Negotiate with agents to reach positive and profitable outcomes.
  • Stay current on state issues and regulations, industry activity, and trends, freely sharing information with others.
  • Maintain advanced functionality with regards to relevant systems to perform day-to-day activities.
  • Work with senior underwriters and management on risks exceeding authority level or requiring special handling.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Casualty Underwriting.
  • Knowledge of GL, Umbrella, Excess wording, and underwriting tools like ISO and IRMI, to take over and independently handle an established book of business.
  • Strong attention to detail while managing large amounts of information.
