About the Role

Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, verifying patient orders, and ensuring accurate image transmission.

Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or eligible for registration within 90 days of employment
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
