About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic fluoroscopy and various types of cardiac equipment, monitoring patient vitals, and assisting the physician during procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient setup and preparation before procedures, ensuring safe patient transfer and positioning techniques.
  • Document procedures and interventions in the procedure log to ensure accurate billing and charge capture.
  • Operate radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Conduct hemodynamic monitoring of patients during procedures and report values to the performing physician.
  • Monitor delivery of radiation dose to patients to achieve safe delivery with minimal exposure to staff.
  • Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in picture archiving and communicating systems (PACS).
  • Perform quality control standards by using the optimum diagnostic imaging and performing regular maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in radiologic sciences.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice AND registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences.
  • 2 years of experience as an allied health professional.
