- Complete necessary transfer and discharge documentation, ensuring an assessment of the patient's ongoing care needs.

Medication Administration:
- Adhere to the five rights of medication administration, clearly communicating to patients and their families about the medications being provided.
- Evaluate patients prior to medication administration, taking into account allergies, vital signs, potential side effects, and effectiveness, intervening as necessary.
- Manage pain effectively based on patient feedback and assessment findings, documenting responses in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Identify high-risk medications and utilize appropriate references as needed.

Patient Safety:
- Assess patients for potential safety risks upon admission.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Implement interventions for identified risk factors.

Patient and Family Education:
- Assess the educational needs of patients and their families.
- Develop and deliver tailored educational content using suitable teaching methods.
- Evaluate and document the responses of patients and families to educational efforts.

Delegation and Leadership:
- Apply the five rights of delegation in nursing practice.
- Coordinate and supervise nursing care delivery, including the delegation of tasks.
- Maintain accountability for delegated care.
- Foster a positive work environment through teamwork and personal example.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities, demonstrating problem-solving and organizational skills.

Care Delivery:
- Adhere to nursing standards of practice, including assessment, care planning, and evaluation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate's degree in nursing required.

Licensure:
- Must hold a valid nursing license in the State of Connecticut.

Experience:
- Experience ranging from zero to six months is acceptable.

Certifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) certification is required within three months of hire.

Working Conditions:
Physical Demands:
- Significant manual dexterity and coordination required.
- May involve heavy physical effort, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Environment:
- Exposure to various environmental factors including noise and odors.

Credentials:
- ACLS, ENPC, PALS, RN, TNCC certifications are preferred.
