Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - MRI

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Health and Public Safety Technologies. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Radiologic Program Chair, the Adjunct Instructor (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) position requires a passion, demonstrated by experience, for effective teaching and advisement of diverse students. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms.
  • Preparing lesson plans and syllabi for program courses.
  • Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports for program and students in the courses.
  • Instructing MRI technology courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
  • Providing instruction in the theory and practical applications in MRI technology in the classroom and lab environment.
  • Measuring program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submitting results to program chair.
  • Remaining compliant with all American Registry of Radiologic Technologist requirements and curriculum requirements for MRI.
  • Remaining compliant with all requirements for instruction, practice, and licensure in the field of study.
  • Maintaining continuing education requirements and additional instructor trainings, including completion of professional development trainings.
  • Attending all mandatory staff, division, and college meetings.
  • Participating in division, program, and college events as needed.
  • The position may require day/evening/weekend/distance (online) learning classes and activities.
  • The position may require coverage of other radiology courses, as needed.
  • Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Maintaining proper documentation for ongoing JRCERT accreditation and performance.
  • May be asked to serve on committees and projects.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor degree or higher and three (3) or more years of teaching experience, and be qualified to teach the subject.
  • Experienced in course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
  • One (1) or more year(s) of clinical experience in the professional MRI discipline.
  • Knowledgeable in JRCERT standards and process.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certification and registration, or equivalent in Radiography and MRI.
  • Must also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Masters degree or higher and be qualified to teach the subject.
  • Proficient in course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
  • Five (5) or more years of teaching experience in lab, clinical, and didactic setting.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in the professional MRI discipline.
  • Ability to think multi-task, quickly and independently.
