Adjunct Instructor

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor (Drafting) to join its Industrial & Transportation Technology department. This position is located at the Main campus in Downtown Atlanta.

The successful candidate will provide instruction to students, assess their learning outcomes, and foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings. They will also promote good public relations through regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the development and review of program and syllabi, goals, and objectives.
  • Evaluating and reviewing students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Advising and counseling students, maintaining appropriate advisement records.
  • Demonstrating and ensuring the use of appropriate and effective teaching techniques, testing, and grading procedures.
  • Displaying excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining and reviewing classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.
  • Maintaining and reviewing program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
  • Assisting with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of current practices in related fields.
  • Following and enforcing rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and 18 credit hours in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, or Engineering Graphics.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Rivet software.
  • Ability to instruct students and handle administrative responsibilities related to the position.
  • Energy, motivation, self-direction, openness to new ideas, and customer focus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
