Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Loyola University Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic nursing care to patients, including vital sign measurements, wound care, and mobility assistance.
- Assist professional nurses with complex patient care procedures, such as setting up IV tubing and performing ECGs.
- Perform technical tasks, such as changing dressings and collecting wound cultures.
- Assist with patient transportation and ambulation, using assistive devices as needed.
- Document patient information and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification or equivalent experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Less than one year of previous job-related experience required; one to two years of experience preferred.
