Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to cultivate and oversee both established and prospective clients by marketing food and non-food products to meet sales and profitability targets.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the principal contact for customer relationships, engaging clients in value-added initiatives.
  • Utilize available resources to maximize penetration in existing accounts and facilitate the opening of new accounts.
  • Participate in a comprehensive training program designed for the Territory Manager role.

Essential Duties:
  • Enhance customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework.
  • Coordinate deliveries according to the transportation department's routing schedule, addressing any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process.
  • Manage accounts receivable in collaboration with the credit department, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by leveraging market intelligence and networking within industry organizations.
  • Stay informed about market trends, product innovations, and competitor offerings, sharing relevant insights with clients as part of the value-added services.
  • Travel to existing and potential clients to ensure product delivery, which may involve lifting and carrying items up to 75lbs.

Supervision:
No direct reports.

Internal Relationships:
Collaborate with District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.

External Relationships:
Engage with customers, vendors, and potential clients.

Work Environment:
Frequent fieldwork in varying weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:
1+ years of sales experience preferred, with a background in the foodservice industry, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities. A competitive spirit and results-oriented mindset are essential, as well as problem-solving and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Customer Relationship Management tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Licenses:
A valid driver's license is required, and a clean motor vehicle record is essential.
