We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at RHA Health Services. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and/or substance use needs to live their best lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, promoting healthy living and preventing illness and accidents.
  • Accompany individuals to work, social events, and community outings, fostering positive relationships and promoting decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
  • Teach independent living skills, such as personal care and bathing, laundry, cleaning, and decorating, to help individuals achieve their goals and live independently.
  • Document the care provided and maintain accurate records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to state laws and regulations.
  • Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights, and understand diverse challenges of those living with disabilities, using effective advocacy strategies to support individuals.
  • Connect individuals with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, and other areas of interest.
  • Assist with medication administration where state law allows, and protect confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid drivers' license
  • Conflict resolution, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to maintain good work attendance and confidentiality
