About the Opportunity
UW Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and skilled Data Model Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, this individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) on behalf of the clinical enterprise.

- Full Time Monday - Friday
Job Summary
The Data Model Specialist will be accountable for monitoring, responding to, and resolving requests for FDM updates from across UW Medicine. This will involve partnering with stakeholders from Finance and Operations, as well as UWA counterparts, to ensure any updates to the FDM are properly evaluated, approved, defined, tested, implemented, communicated, and documented.
Primary Responsibilities
- UW Medicine FDM Management
- Consolidated Close Calendar Management
- Participate in and support the accounting department's efforts related to business process design and improvement, as well as technology streamlining and increased efficiencies for end users
- Prepare and present written and verbal reports to management and staff as requested
- Serves as a UW Medicine Finance representative on committees, task forces, and other initiatives where appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Four years' experience in accounting operations, including financial reporting and month-end close
- Highly organized; demonstrated ability to run a process involving multiple stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines, ensuring adherence to policies around approvals, testing, documentation, and communication
- Demonstrated ability to delve into new subject areas and quickly understand the fundamentals
- Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and productivity, navigating any reporting data domain or subject area
- Experience with enterprise financial systems such as Workday, Oracle, or other
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
Estimated Salary Range
$85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
