Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide exceptional patient care and business development services by filling prescriptions, offering clinical services, and delivering outstanding customer experiences while supervising pharmacy associates. Frequent independent judgments are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Prescription Filling and Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing drug utilization review and final quality assurance, in compliance with state and federal board of pharmacy regulations.
  • Business Development and Growth: Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs, including immunization and medication therapy management, diabetes care specialist, and other programs as identified.
  • Customer Service and Healthcare Counseling: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and offering healthcare counseling.
  • Team Supervision and Management: Supervise the work completed by support staff while on duty and assist with training, coaching, and managing pharmacy associates.
  • Pharmacy Security and Compliance: Maintain appropriate security of the pharmacy department and comply with HIPAA and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Customer Issue Resolution: Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints, and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Pharmacy Maintenance and Organization: Assist with maintaining the pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
  • Task Prioritization and Management: Prioritize pharmacy department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, including cycle counts, inventory management, and will-calls to customers.
Qualifications
  • Pay Scale: $60.25 per hour
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in pharmacy or doctoral degree (PHARM.D.) and immunization certification through an accredited organization.
  • License and Registration: Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state for which you are applying.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
