Job Title: Commissioning Authority

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Authority to join our team at DLR Group. As a Commissioning Authority, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our buildings are designed and constructed to meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a project manager and client leader for a variety of new construction commissioning projects
  • Work on retro-commissioning projects, measurement and verification projects, and energy audit projects
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements
  • Conduct thorough design and construction reviews, functional testing, and building performance diagnostics to ensure that buildings meet performance and safety standards
  • Collaborate with integrated design teams of architects, engineers, and specialty designers to provide commissioning expertise on projects across DLR Group's core sectors
  • Manage project execution and client expectations to adhere to budget, schedule, and scope
  • Develop, communicate, and update project plans, including information such as project objectives, technical specifications, schedules, and staffing
  • Conduct commissioning site visits and travel as needed
  • Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff and emerging engineers
  • Perform QA/QC review of project deliverables
  • Work with marketing and business development teams to develop scope and fee for new project opportunities

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of full-time hands-on experience in commissioning building systems
  • Knowledge of the building design and construction industry with expertise in the building commissioning process
  • A strong understanding of the commissioning process for new construction and major renovations
  • A strong understanding of existing building commissioning, operations, and maintenance, specifically with energy use and indoor environmental quality
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and building automation systems to evaluate and test the performance of these systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Professional licensure
  • Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body (ACG, BCA, or ASHRAE)
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn more about using SkySpark as a connected-commissioning/monitoring-based commissioning tool
