Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Program Specialist 2 DOCCS to join our team at the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and operating correctional mental health programs in adult correctional facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate correctional mental health programs in adult correctional facilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives for mental health programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of mental health services.

Requirements:

  • Masters or higher degree in counseling, criminal justice, educational psychology, health service administration, psychology, public health administration, human services, social work, or sociology.
  • Two years of professional experience in a federal or state-operated adult correctional facility or mental health facility with primary involvement in at least three of the following areas: oversight, coordination, operation, monitoring, and quality improvement of a correctional mental health program.
