Job Summary:
The Nursing Admissions Specialist will assist students with the application process for the nursing programs and provide administrative support for the nursing supervisor and faculty during the nursing applicant selection process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with the application process for the nursing programs.
- Provide administrative support for the nursing supervisor and faculty during the nursing applicant selection process.
- Coordinate all activities involved with supporting the instructor-initiated withdrawal policy.
- Serve as admissions liaison with college divisions regarding dual enrollment.
- Manage the required records reporting process to outside agencies.
- Provide customer/technical support by assisting students with the People Soft Student Information System (SIS) and the admissions application.
- Update information for the admissions and records website, review admissions applications daily, send acceptance letters, and complete student deferment forms.
- Register students, provide customer service, and assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Excellent human relations skills for working with the public and with community college students, faculty, and administrators.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Fairness and flexibility in understanding and working with a wide variety of students.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent keyboarding and computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general office practices.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in a team-oriented postsecondary educational environment.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to college admissions and records.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) or other comparable system.
