About the Role:

The Starbucks Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our coffee shop. As a leader, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Starbucks Clerks, overseeing new and ongoing training, and maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers
  • Supervise and train Starbucks Clerks to ensure excellent customer service and sales growth
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation
  • Brew coffee, tea, and other beverages using coffee urns, drip or vacuum coffee makers, teapots, drink mixers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Perform various duties to assist in filling customer orders, including operating a cash register and making change
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cleaning and polishing utensils and equipment used in beverage preparation
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate temperature logs and all other logs required in the Starbucks department
  • Operate electronic cash registers to total customers' final bills and receive payment
  • Count back correct change and handle customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Perform temperature checks as required
  • Set up and maintain displays in the coffee area
  • Replace stock in the preparation area from the supply area
  • Monitor inter-office mail
  • Oversee and ensure correctness of all compliance audit issues
  • Make signs, tags, and displays as needed
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment within the store
  • Responsible for performing basic cash-office functions
  • Responsible for compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow company customer service procedures
  • Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience
  • Must meet the minimum requirements to interview and pass an interview for promotion
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers and supervisors
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to make decisions and work without supervision
  • Ability to concentrate, focus, and take initiative
  • Ability to organize, plan, and analyze reports
  • Ability to multitask while working under stress and time constraints
  • Ability to work varied shifts over a 24-hour operation
  • Knowledge of and ability to prepare different coffee and tea drinks
  • Ability to memorize drink formulas and PLU codes
  • Knowledge of shrink programs and related audits
  • Starbucks Manager must pass food safety tests and all other required tests
  • Reports to shifts working in proper uniform per company policy
  • Desired: Prior management experience. Previous experience as a Starbucks Clerk
