Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver personalized nursing care to residents. This role involves collaboration with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, to develop, execute, and assess care plans. The RN will demonstrate proficiency and operate within the full scope of nursing practice, adhering to age-specific standards relevant to their clinical setting. Responsibilities include caring for residents across all phases of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. The RN will coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide education, and implement various nursing interventions.
Additionally, the RN may take on the role of charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel, ensuring that all actions align with job descriptions, skill sets, resident care needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Adequate support and guidance will be provided to ensure safe and effective resident care and to address any care-related concerns. The RN will function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and relevant Administrative Rules.
Qualifications
A graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, including institutions recognized by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
The candidate must hold an unencumbered RN license from the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. It is essential to obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
