The Automated Reasoning Group within AWS Cloud Operations is seeking a talented Applied Scientist to engage in the convergence of Artificial Intelligence and program analysis. The primary focus will be on automating the oversight of cloud computing resources, initially targeting reactive, incident-driven solutions, with a strategic vision for proactive measures in the long run.
As a member of a broader team, you will contribute to the development of tools that facilitate the management of a comprehensive array of cloud resources, all while maintaining an application-centric perspective.
Every day, countless developers conduct billions of transactions globally on AWS, leveraging the power of the cloud to drive innovative applications, websites, and enterprises.By utilizing automated reasoning technologies and mathematical proofs, AWS empowers customers to address critical inquiries regarding security, availability, durability, and functional correctness.
This approach is termed provable security, ensuring absolute confidence in the security of cloud services.Team Dynamics:
You will collaborate with a group of specialists in automated reasoning alongside software development engineers. Our focus is on creating automated tools and methodologies for code synthesis and analysis.
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD or Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of applied research experience
- At least 3 years of experience in developing machine learning models for business applications
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
- Experience with neural deep learning techniques and machine learning methodologies
- PhD
- Experience with Generative AI for producing declarative descriptions of cloud configurations
- Experience with Generative AI for code generation

Our compensation structure reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets.
The base salary for this role ranges from $150,400 annually in our lowest geographic market to $260,000 annually in our highest geographic market.
Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon adopts a total compensation approach.Depending on the position, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other compensation forms may be included in the total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
