Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is a key member of the Unity Health team, responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and access to healthcare services. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all outpatient and inpatient registration functions, including hospital cashiering and insurance verification.
  • Ensure patients meet financial requirements and provide general information to hospital users, patients, and families.
  • Communicate effectively with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
  • Provide excellent patient-focused customer service and work at a fully cross-functional level in all functional areas for Patient Access Services Representatives.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent; medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to accurately type 25-30 words per minute and pass a clerical examination.
  • Must be able to work in a moderate-paced environment with frequent fine motor movement and manual dexterity to utilize computer.
  • Good visual and hearing discrimination, as well as moderate lack of control over pace of work and high level of interaction with patients and employees throughout the workday.
Working Conditions

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, and moderate lifting of 20-25 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
