Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Controls Engineer to join our team at Reser's. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating PLC controllers and drive systems to support our production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement PLC control systems for manufacturing operations
  • Develop and maintain programmable logic controller systems
  • Collaborate with machine vendors, maintenance management, and operations to design and develop effective automated PLC control and drive systems
  • Provide training and direction to maintenance personnel on corrective maintenance and installation of electronic equipment
  • Implement new control systems on existing systems and migrate towards the Rockwell platform
  • Establish protocols for system access, backups, and data recovery
  • Perform work on various systems, including Rockwell Software, motion/servo control, and communication protocols
  • Partner with the IT department to ensure line servers are maintained and updated as needed
  • Maintain safety certifications, including Lockout/Tagout, CPR, and Confined Space Entry
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, ISO TS 16949, and ISO 14001 standards
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering or trade school graduate with equivalent experience and PLC certification
  • 3+ years' experience in machine design and programmable logic controller system experience, including advanced process controls troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with process controls, automation controls, safety standards, and relay logic
  • Basic networking knowledge on Ethernet networks
  • AutoCAD skills and ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings
  • Rockwell Allen Bradley skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with implementing SCADA systems for data collection and custom reporting
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant environment, with occasional lifting, kneeling, and bending with items in excess of 100 lbs. Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.

This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
