Job Summary

The Core Laboratory Pathology Manager is responsible for the successful operation of this area of the laboratory, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The manager will oversee the effective selection and management of supervisory personnel, technical personnel, and customer service personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial management of expenses and labor
  • Quality assurance/CQI and regulatory affairs
  • Training and education of staff
  • Development of an excellent customer service center
  • Identification of laboratory instrument platforms for use throughout the WakeMed system
  • Providing technical and operational support for other facilities performing testing in the disciplines associated with the Core Laboratory
Requirements
  • 4 years of management experience in a direct area of responsibility
  • 5 years of clinical experience in a clinical laboratory
  • Bachelor's degree in a life science
  • Master's degree in business administration (preferred)
