The Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator plays a vital role in the department, performing various clerical and patient care duties under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Collects and records patient data, reporting information and observations to the nursing team in a timely manner. Performs routine vital sign checks, collects and transports specimens, and assists with patient activities of daily living.
- Helps patients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, and maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Completes and maintains accurate records, files, and documents related to patient care and unit management.
- Provides excellent customer service, answering phone calls and responding to patient requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assists with non-medical patient care duties, such as making coffee and distributing supplies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
