Job Opportunity: The Department of Sociology at Brandeis University is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a 4-credit course in Spring 2024.
Course Overview: This course introduces major sociological theories about leadership, political context, culture, and identities in social movements in a transnational perspective. Students will examine historical and contemporary cases of social movements through the lenses of race, gender, class, and sexuality.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a 4-credit course on social movements and sociology
- Develop and implement a course syllabus
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Sociology or a related field
- Teaching or research experience in political sociology and social movements
- Ability to develop and teach a course syllabus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
