As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, you will play a vital role in our commitment to delivering accurate diagnostic imaging services. Your responsibilities will include operating MRI and X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform MRI and X-ray imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Obtain patient medical history and verify patient identification and consent prior to performing procedures.
- Position patients correctly and operate MRI and X-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret imaging results.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain and perform QA on MRI and X-ray equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control.
- Practice medical and surgical aseptic techniques.
- Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices.
- Willingness to complete X-ray imaging.
Minimum Requirements
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology associate program.
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State of Wyoming Radiologic Technologist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working as an MRI Technologist in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in operating MRI and X-ray equipment and other imaging technology.
- Additional certifications or specialized training in MRI imaging.
Additional Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Knowledge of general anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Specific Demands
Possible exposure to blood and/or body fluids/infectious disease/hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Exposure to odorous chemicals/specimens and Latex products.
