Job SummaryAs an MRI Technologist at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in our commitment to providing accurate diagnostic imaging services while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Your responsibilities will include operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities- Perform MRI imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Obtain patient medical history and verify patient identification and consent prior to performing procedures.
- Position patients correctly and operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images of the appropriate anatomy.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret imaging results.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain and perform QA on MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control.
- Practice medical and surgical aseptic techniques.
- Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices.
- Willingsness to complete x-ray imaging.
Education/Experience/License and Certifications:
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology associated program, required.
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), preferred.
- State of Wyoming Radiologic Technologist, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required.
- Experience working as an MRI Technologist in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferred.
- Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and other imaging technology, preferred.
- Additional certifications or specialized training in MRI imaging, preferred.
Additional Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Knowledge of general anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.

Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products.
