About Our Farm

Established as a partnership, our dairy operation currently manages a herd of 340 Spring-calving cows. Our milking process is conducted twice daily through a state-of-the-art milking parlour. We take pride in rearing all our own replacement heifers on-site and are committed to quality by participating in the 360 Care program.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist the Farm Manager with daily operations while also overseeing the farm in their absence. Key responsibilities include:

  • Herd Management: Ensure the welfare of the animals is prioritized.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to meet established KPIs, financial objectives, and herd performance targets.
  • Milking Operations: Participate in milking activities, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Genetic Improvement: Focus on enhancing cow genetics and breeding practices.
  • Team Leadership: Manage the team effectively, including scheduling and rota preparation.
  • Dry Cow Management: Take charge of dry cow care, calving procedures, and colostrum protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate dairy herd records and data reporting.
  • Animal Health: Identify and promptly address any health issues among livestock.
  • Farm Maintenance: Ensure the farm environment is safe and well-maintained.
  • Professional Liaison: Coordinate with veterinarians and nutritionists as needed.
  • General Duties: Perform general stockperson tasks and assist with farm upkeep.
