Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the operational activities of assigned programs, ensuring high-quality delivery to faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to program staff, fostering professional development and talent growth.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to support and advance strategic goals.
  • Develop, implement, and manage both short-term and long-term strategic business plans for the department.
  • Prepare comprehensive business analyses and funding proposals; initiate new programs and enhance existing ones.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures in all administrative services.
  • Manage financial operations, including revenue and expense oversight.
  • Direct day-to-day administrative functions, coordinating with other entities impacting departmental business.
  • Support the development and execution of educational, research, clinical, and outreach initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts for professional and laboratory services with external partners.
  • Lead monthly budget report analyses to meet sponsor agency and institutional requirements.
  • Manage research facilities, resources, and equipment effectively.
  • Oversee faculty appointment processes, ensuring adherence to guidelines and timelines.
  • Assist in recruiting diverse faculty to meet departmental needs.
  • Review and support contract renewals and new agreements.
  • Monitor faculty productivity in collaboration with departmental leadership.
  • Establish new consultation services and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan for the department.
  • Maintain a positive workplace culture aligned with the strategic goals of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Proven ability to manage, implement, and evaluate departmental operations.
  • Capability to set departmental goals and objectives that align with the strategic plan.
  • Effective planning, delegation, and supervision skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Any combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities and may expand to include additional duties as necessary.
