Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team at Target. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our critical MEP systems, ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, and providing technical expertise to support our business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, and temperature control systems.
- Manage critical system lifecycle and modernization projects, including budgeting, planning, coordinating, scheduling, executing, and documenting the project.
- Ensure all work performed in the data center facilities meets and/or exceeds applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operating procedures, emergency procedures, and policies/processes that govern work performed in the data centers.
- Serve as an escalation contact as part of an on-call rotation for critical issues and incidents.
- Make recommendations to improve safety, stability, security, efficiency, and service delivery.
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of critical MEP system operations and maintenance experience.
- Maintains technical knowledge and proficiency within area(s) of expertise via formal training and self-directed education.
- Stays current with new and evolving technologies.
- Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target's technology capabilities and key competitors' products and differentiating features.
- Demonstrates clear communication of complex concepts to internal product teams and external business partners.
- Understands, influences, and applies best practices, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in core development platforms within own domain.
- Builds strong commitment within the team to support corporate and team priorities.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work on the team and/or guests.
